Platform invitations
Use this page to invite someone to set up a new organisation and be its admin. They sign in with the address you enter here. When public sign-up is off, this is the only way a new organisation joins.
To open it, select Platform on the platform console, then select Platform Invitations.
Invite someone to set up an organisation
- Enter their address in Their email address.
- If you want to suggest a name, enter it in Organisation name (optional).
- Select Create Invitation.
You see the message “Invitation created. Copy the link and send it.” The link appears under Invitation created.
The person can change the name you suggest.
Copy the link
- Select Copy Link.
- Send the link to the person yourself.
You see the message “Link copied.”
The link works once, for 14 days. It’s shown only now. If you lose it, withdraw the invitation and create a new one.
See the invitations you’ve sent
The Sent list shows each invitation with the email address, the organisation name if you gave one, and the date. Next to each you see one of:
- Waiting: they haven’t used it yet.
- Used: they’ve set up their organisation.
- Withdrawn: you stopped it from working.
- Expired: it ran out of time.
Withdraw an invitation
- Find the invitation marked Waiting.
- Select Withdraw.
- Select Withdraw again to confirm.
The link stops working, and the row shows Withdrawn. You can create a new invitation for the same address afterwards.
Who can do this
Only Global Admins can use this page. Organisation admins invite people to their own organisation from Invitations instead.
If something goes wrong
“Enter the email address the invitation is for.” Their email address is empty. Enter an address, then select Create Invitation.
“That address already has an invitation waiting. Withdraw it first to send a new one.” Withdraw the existing invitation, then create a new one.
“That invitation has already been used or withdrawn.” Nothing more to do. Reload the page to see its state.
“Only Global Admins can manage invitations.” You’re not a Global Admin.
“The invitation could not be created.” Something went wrong. Try again.
“Select the link and copy it.” Your browser wouldn’t copy the link. Select the link in the box and copy it yourself.
